Billy McCaffrey is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBA and in Europe during the 1990s. He was born on May 14, 1971, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. McCaffrey played college basketball at Duke University, where he was a standout player and helped lead the team to the 1991 NCAA Championship.
After college, McCaffrey was selected in the second round of the 1992 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. He also played for the Pittsburgh Piranhas in the Continental Basketball Association and had stints in Europe playing for various teams.
McCaffrey's basketball career was cut short due to injuries, but he remains involved in the sport as a coach and trainer. He is known for his shooting ability and basketball IQ, and is considered one of the greatest players in Duke basketball history.
